Sense Door Awareness

Bringing mindful attention to each of the six senses (including mind), observing how perception creates experience.

The six sense doors - seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, smelling, and thinking - are the gateways through which we experience reality. By bringing awareness to these doors, we see how consciousness arises in dependence on sense contact. This practice reveals that what we call 'self' is actually a process of perception. Neuroscience confirms that our sense of self is constructed moment-by-moment from sensory integration. When we observe the sense doors mindfully, we see there is no perceiver separate from perceiving, only the flow of experience itself.
