Seasonal Movement

Following the cycles of abundance through different parts of country.

Traditional life involved moving through country following seasonal abundances - to the coast for fish, to the highlands for certain plants, to water sources during dry times. This movement ensured sustainable use and allowed areas to regenerate.

We moved with the seasons, taking what was ready and leaving what needed rest.

Elder Teaching, Oral Tradition
