The complementary roles of men and women in traditional society.
Men and women have different but complementary roles, ceremonies, and knowledge. Neither is superior; both are necessary. Some knowledge belongs only to men, some only to women, creating balanced domains of authority.
Men's business and women's business are both sacred. Neither is complete without the other.
Gender complementarity creates balanced society with separate but equal domains.
