Body Painting
Sacred designs painted on the body for ceremony.
Body painting transforms the person into the ancestral being they represent in ceremony. The designs are not decorative but transformative, encoding sacred meaning and invoking ancestral power. Body painting makes the invisible visible.
When the designs are painted on, you become more than yourself. You become the ancestor.
Body painting represents transformative rather than decorative art.
