Bhagavad Gita

The Supreme Knower

Know Me to be the Knower in all fields. Knowledge of the field and its knower—that I call true knowledge.

Krishna reveals that He is the ultimate Knower within all bodies. Just as the same sun illuminates everything, the same consciousness—the divine Self—knows through all minds. This teaching takes the field/knower distinction to its ultimate conclusion: the individual knower is not ultimately separate from the supreme Knower. Recognizing this divine presence within all beings transforms our relationship with others and ourselves.

O scion of Bharata, you should understand that I am also the Knower in all bodies, and to understand this body and its knower is called knowledge.

Lord Krishna, Bhagavad Gita 13.2

This verse establishes the non-dual truth—the same consciousness that knows through your eyes knows through all eyes. Separation is illusion.
