Macha - Curse of the Ulstermen

The goddess who cursed the men of Ulster after being forced to race while pregnant.

Macha, forced to race against the king's horses while pregnant, won but died giving birth to twins. With her dying breath, she cursed the Ulstermen to suffer labor pains in their hour of greatest need. Her story warns against cruelty and the power of the wronged.

The wrong done to me shall return ninefold to those who forced me.

Macha, Noínden Ulad

Macha's curse demonstrates the Celtic belief in cosmic justice for wrongdoing.
