Behold, I Make All Things New

God's final declaration promises complete renewal of all creation, not mere repair.

From His throne, God declares, 'I am making everything new!' This is comprehensive renewal—not patching the old but creating the new. The verb tense (present continuous) suggests ongoing renewal that will be completed at the end. Nothing good is lost; everything is transformed. This promise encompasses all creation: physical, spiritual, relational, cosmic. It echoes the 'new covenant,' 'new birth,' 'new creation' themes throughout Scripture. God specializes in making all things new. What sin corrupted, Christ redeems; what death destroyed, resurrection restores.

He who was seated on the throne said, 'I am making everything new!'

God the Father, Revelation 21:5

Eugene Peterson translated this as 'Look! I'm making everything new'—the exclamation point captures the joyful surprise of cosmic renewal.
