Dignity and Composure

The junzi maintains dignified bearing in all circumstances.

The junzi presents themselves with dignity - not arrogance, but composed self-respect. Their demeanor reflects their inner cultivation and commands respect naturally.

The junzi is dignified but not arrogant; the small person is arrogant but not dignified.

Confucius, Analects 13.26

True dignity comes from character, not pretension.
