The Conjunction
The sacred marriage of opposites.
The conjunction is the union of the purified opposites - Sun and Moon, Sulfur and Mercury, King and Queen. This chemical wedding produces the 'child' - the Stone, the perfected product of the work.
The King and Queen unite, and from their union the Hermaphrodite is born.
The conjunction represents the reconciliation of all opposites.
