Aparigraha - Non-Possessiveness
The fifth great vow: limiting possessions and attachment to material things.
Aparigraha means non-grasping or non-possessiveness. For monastics, it means owning almost nothing. For laypeople, it means limiting possessions, avoiding hoarding, and cultivating non-attachment.
Attachment to possessions is attachment to bondage.
Aparigraha addresses the root of greed and hoarding.
