Relationship with Monastics
Laypeople support and learn from monks and nuns as spiritual guides.
The sangha (community) includes monastics and laypeople in mutual relationship. Laypeople provide material support; monastics provide teaching and spiritual example. Both are necessary.
Monastics and laity: two wings of the same bird.
The monastic-lay relationship sustains both communities.
