The Calendar Round
The 52-year cycle created by the interlocking of Tzolk'in and Haab.
The Calendar Round combines the 260-day Tzolk'in with the 365-day Haab, creating a 52-year cycle (18,980 days) before any date combination repeats. The completion of each round was marked with great ceremony, as the old cycle died and the new was born.
Fifty-two years the wheel turns before returning to its beginning.
The Calendar Round integrated sacred and secular time into a unified system.
