Collective Work - Faena
The practice of community members working together on shared tasks.
The faena (collective work) brings community members together for shared tasks - building houses, clearing roads, planting or harvesting. Participating in faena is an obligation; avoiding it brings shame. Together, the community accomplishes what no individual could.
Many hands make light work; the burden shared becomes a joy.
Collective work practices strengthen community bonds and accomplish large projects.
