Love Manifests in the Worthy Vessel
Divine love reveals itself only in a heart made ready — a pure and worthy vessel free of pride and selfish desire.
In Sutra 53, Narada teaches that love 'manifests only in a qualified person, free from impurities.' Like a lamp lit only when oil and wick are prepared, the flame of love shines forth in the heart that has been purified and made receptive. This explains why the same teaching kindles love in one person and leaves another untouched — the difference lies in the readiness of the vessel. Narada thus joins the themes of grace and effort: grace gives the flame, but the seeker prepares the lamp. The principle encourages diligent inner purification while keeping the soul humble before the gift, anticipating the universal wisdom that we cannot command the dawn but we can keep watch for it.
Love manifests only in a worthy and purified heart.
The image of love manifesting in the prepared vessel parallels the Gospel beatitude that 'the pure in heart shall see God,' linking inner purification with the capacity to receive divine presence.
