The Power of Words
Words have magical power; rightly spoken they can heal, wrongly spoken they can destroy.
In Norse culture, words carried tremendous weight. Oaths were sacred and binding, curses were feared, and poets wielded power through their verses. This teaching reminds us that speech creates reality and must be wielded carefully.
No man should trust the words of a maid, nor what a woman says; for on a whirling wheel were hearts created, and fickleness placed in their breasts.
Norse culture regarded spoken words as having tangible power in the world.
