Kannagara - Living in Accord with Kami
The natural way of the kami, living spontaneously in harmony with divine nature.
Kannagara no michi means following the way of the kami naturally and spontaneously. It is living in alignment with the divine order without artificial effort, allowing one's true nature to express itself in harmony with heaven and earth.
To live kannagara is to move as naturally as water flows downhill, in accord with the divine way.
Kannagara represents the Shinto ideal of effortless harmony with cosmic order.

Kannagara is living along the grain of the divine way rather than against it, described as water running downhill rather than as effort.
