Jinja - The Shinto Shrine
Sacred spaces where kami are enshrined and where humans can commune with the divine.
Jinja are the shrines that serve as the dwelling places of kami and the centers of Shinto worship. From the grand Ise Jingu to humble roadside hokora, shrines provide spaces where humans can approach the divine, offer gratitude, and receive blessings.
The shrine is where heaven and earth meet, where humans may approach the kami.
Shrines form the institutional heart of Shinto practice.
