Shichi-Go-San - Children's Festival
The festival celebrating children at ages three, five, and seven.
Shichi-Go-San celebrates children at the auspicious ages of three, five (boys), and seven (girls). Families visit shrines to thank the kami for the children's healthy growth and pray for continued protection. Children wear traditional clothing and receive chitose-ame (thousand-year candy).
We bring our children to the kami with grateful hearts for their healthy growth.
Shichi-Go-San marks important transitions in childhood within Shinto tradition.
