Stoicism

Attention to the Present Duty

Whatever task lies before you, give it complete and wholehearted attention; do not half-do things while mentally elsewhere.

Marcus Aurelius emphasized undivided attention to whatever duty he was performing. Meetings deserve full presence; philosophical reflection deserves full focus; ordinary tasks deserve genuine care. Divided attention both reduces quality and prevents the kind of full engagement in which virtue can be practiced.

Do what nature requires. Get moving right now if you have it in you—and don't look around to see if people will know about it.

Marcus Aurelius, Meditations, Book 3

Stoic attentiveness (prosochē) parallels Buddhist sati (mindfulness) as continuous awareness of one's judgments and acts.
