Srividya — The Sacred Science of the Goddess
Srividya is the most complete and refined of all Tantric traditions, centered on the worship of Tripura Sundari through the Sri Chakra yantra and the Panchadashi mantra.
Srividya (the sacred science of Shri — the auspicious) is considered the highest of all Tantric paths, a complete system of philosophy and practice centered on the goddess Lalita Tripura Sundari. The tradition's primary instrument is the Sri Chakra (also called Sri Yantra) — the most geometrically complex and symbolically rich yantra in the Hindu tradition. The Sri Chakra consists of nine interlocking triangles (four pointing up representing Shiva, five pointing down representing Shakti) producing 43 smaller triangles, surrounded by two rings of lotus petals and three squares, the whole generating a complete map of consciousness from the outer gross reality to the innermost point (Bindu) that is the absolute. Meditation on the Sri Chakra is a journey from the periphery of manifestation to the center of pure consciousness. The Panchadashi mantra (15 syllables) carries the specific vibratory signature of the goddess's creative power.
The Sri Chakra is the visible form of the invisible Goddess — meditating on it, one meditates on the entire universe as the body of the Divine Mother.
Mathematician Keith Critchlow's analysis of the Sri Yantra's geometry demonstrates that it encodes multiple mathematical constants and spatial ratios found in nature — consistent with the Tantric claim that the Sri Chakra is a structural map of cosmic order rather than a merely conventional symbol.
