The Chakrasamvara Tantra — Complete Liberation

The Chakrasamvara Tantra is one of the most important Vajrayana Buddhist Tantras, offering a complete system of practice through the union of bliss and emptiness that leads to the swiftest possible liberation.

The Chakrasamvara (Wheel of Supreme Bliss) Tantra is among the most important Anuttarayoga Tantras of Vajrayana Buddhism, transmitted through Luipa, Ghantapada, and other Mahasiddhas. It focuses on the wrathful deity Chakrasamvara (Heruka) and his consort Vajravarahi — representing the union of method (compassion) and wisdom (emptiness) in the Tantric form of the inseparability of bliss and sunyata. The practice system includes Outer Yoga (purification through mantra, mudra, mandala), Inner Yoga (working with the subtle body through visualization and pranayama), Secret Yoga (dream and sleep yoga), and the Most Secret Yoga (recognition of the nature of mind in the experience of bliss). The completion stage practices work directly with the drops (thig le) and winds (lung) in the central channel to produce non-conceptual bliss-emptiness awareness. This tradition has been continuously transmitted in Tibetan monasteries from the 11th century to the present.

The union of bliss and emptiness is Chakrasamvara — experiencing it, all phenomena are known as the play of the awakened mind.

Luipa, Chakrasamvara Tantra Commentary

The Chakrasamvara Tantra, whose practice lineage runs back to the mahasiddha Luipa, joins the union of bliss and emptiness to the mandala of Heruka and his consort Vajravarahi.
