The twelve links explain how rebirth perpetuates: ignorance, formations, consciousness, name-and-form, six sense bases, contact, feeling, craving, grasping, becoming, birth, and aging-and-death.
When this exists, that comes to be. With the arising of this, that arises.
Breaking any link in the chain breaks the cycle of rebirth.
