The Upanishads

The Self Beyond Qualities

The true Self transcends all descriptive qualities.

The Self has no color, taste, smell, sound, or touch. It is without form, eternal, beginningless, and endless. Knowing it, one is freed from death.

Without qualities, without action, peaceful, faultless, stainless - this is the highest goal.

Shvetashvatara Upanishad, Shvetashvatara Upanishad 6.19

The Self transcends all phenomenal attributes.
