Gayatri Mantra
The most sacred Vedic mantra invoking divine light.
The Gayatri is addressed to Savitri (the Sun) as a form of Brahman. It prays for illumination of the intellect, leading to wisdom and liberation.
Let us meditate on that excellent glory of the divine Sun; may it illuminate our understanding.
The Gayatri is considered the essence of all Vedic mantras.
