The Inner Space of the Heart
The sacred space within where Brahman dwells.
Within the heart is a small space (dahara) that contains all of heaven and earth. In this cave of the heart, Brahman resides. Seeking within, one finds the infinite.
Within this city of Brahman (the body) is a small lotus, a dwelling place, and within that is a small space. What is within that is to be known.
The heart space is the locus of Self-discovery.

Inside the body is a small lotus, inside that a small space, and what is in that space is what should be known; Chandogya claims heaven and earth are held there. The instruction to a lonely person is to go further in, not out.
