Zoroastrianism

Unity of the Three

Thoughts, words, and deeds must be aligned and consistent.

The three pillars work together as one. Hypocrisy - thinking one thing, saying another, doing a third - violates Asha. Integrity requires alignment of mind, speech, and action.

Let thought, word, and deed be one.

Zoroastrian Teaching, Traditional

Integrity is the hallmark of the righteous person.

  • What Zoroastrianism says about balance

Thinking one thing, saying a second and doing a third is what falsehood looks like in daily life. Integrity is described as three things lining up.

  • What Zoroastrianism says about truth and lying

The sharpest definition of lying here is not a false sentence but hypocrisy — thinking one thing, saying another, doing a third. By this standard a person can speak only facts and still be a follower of the Lie.
