Zoroastrianism

Grades of Fire

Sacred fires are classified into different grades of holiness.

Zoroastrianism recognizes three grades of sacred fire: Atash Bahram (Victory Fire, highest), Atash Adaran (Fire of Fires, intermediate), and Atash Dadgah (Fire of Legal Proceedings, basic). Each has different consecration requirements.

Each grade of fire carries its own holiness.
