Bahá'í Faith

Universal Education

Every child deserves education; if a family can only educate one child, the daughter should be given priority as future educator of the next generation.

The Bahá'í Faith insists that education is a universal right, not a privilege. Bahá'u'lláh commanded that every child — regardless of sex, race, or economic circumstance — should receive education. Abdu'l-Bahá specified that if a family faces constraints, daughters should be prioritized because mothers are the first educators of future generations.

Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures.
