World Peace as Achievable
World peace is not a utopian dream but an achievable goal that follows inevitably from the establishment of just global institutions.
Bahá'u'lláh wrote to the kings and rulers of his time calling for the establishment of a world system that would guarantee peace. He taught that war is not an inevitable feature of human nature but a consequence of specific social conditions — tribal rivalries, nationalist ideology, unjust distribution of resources — that can be changed.
The well-being of mankind, its peace and security, are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established.
The Bahá'í peace program is among the most comprehensive in any religious tradition, addressing political, economic, and spiritual dimensions simultaneously.
