The Lesser and Greater Peace

The Lesser Peace — political order among nations — will be followed by the Most Great Peace, characterized by spiritual unity.

Bahá'u'lláh distinguished two stages of world peace: the Lesser Peace — political arrangements among nations eliminating war — and the Most Great Peace — a world civilization characterized by spiritual unity, justice, and universal flourishing. The Lesser Peace can be achieved by political means; the Most Great Peace requires spiritual transformation.

The Most Great Peace is what the Prophets of God and His chosen ones and sincere ones longed to witness.

Bahá'u'lláh, Tablets of Bahá'u'lláh

The two-stage peace framework provides a realistic pathway that acknowledges the distinction between political and spiritual transformation.
