Profit-Sharing
Workers should share in the profits of enterprises they help create; economic justice requires that labor be treated as a partner, not merely a cost.
Abdu'l-Bahá gave detailed guidance on profit-sharing arrangements between workers and owners. The relationship between capital and labor should be one of partnership rather than exploitation. Workers who contribute to creating profits have a right to share in them. This principle anticipates modern employee ownership models.
Capital is protected by labor and labor is supported by capital.
Bahá'í profit-sharing teaching anticipates modern stakeholder capitalism and employee ownership models that are increasingly advocated in economic reform discussions.
