Bhagavad Gita

The Origin and Dissolution

I am the origin and dissolution of the entire universe. There is nothing higher than Me.

Krishna declares himself the source and destination of all existence. Everything emerges from the Divine and returns to it. This cosmological vision places the Divine at the center of existence, not as separate creator but as the very ground of being. Understanding this relationship—that we are waves of this infinite ocean—transforms our sense of identity and belonging.

I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who know this perfectly engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts.

Lord Krishna, Bhagavad Gita 10.8

This verse establishes the metaphysical foundation—understanding our source transforms how we live and where we seek fulfillment.
