Bhagavad Gita

The Easy Path

Those who worship Me with exclusive devotion, meditating on My transcendental form—to them I swiftly deliver from the ocean of birth and death.

For those who struggle with abstract meditation, devotion to the personal God offers an easier path. Krishna promises to personally rescue his devoted ones from the ocean of suffering. This teaching emphasizes grace—we don't save ourselves; we are saved by divine compassion responding to our love. Surrender and trust replace self-effort as the mechanism of liberation.

For those whose minds are attached to the unmanifested, impersonal feature of the Supreme, advancement is very troublesome. To make progress in that discipline is always difficult for those who are embodied.

Lord Krishna, Bhagavad Gita 12.5

This verse acknowledges human limitations—for most, personal devotion is more natural than abstract meditation. Krishna meets us where we are.
