The Otherworld
The parallel realm of spirits, ancestors, and gods that exists alongside and within the physical world.
The Otherworld (An Saol Eile) is not distant but intimately interwoven with our world. It is accessed through liminal places - mounds, springs, groves - and at liminal times like Samhain and Beltane. The Otherworld is the source of wisdom, healing, and renewal.
The veil between the worlds grows thin, and what was hidden becomes seen.
The Otherworld concept reveals Celtic belief in the permeability of reality and the presence of the sacred in nature.

- What Celtic tradition says about grief
The Otherworld is not described as far away but as interwoven with this one, reached through mounds, springs and groves. Grief here is distance in kind, not in miles — the dead are close and unreachable at once.
