Freedom in Christ

Christ liberates believers from sin's power, the law's condemnation, and death's fear.

Paul declares, 'It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.' Christian freedom is not license but liberation—freedom from sin's dominion to serve God, freedom from legalism to live by the Spirit, freedom from death's fear to live boldly. This freedom enables genuine love since we serve not from compulsion but from gratitude. True freedom is not autonomy from God but alignment with His purposes, which alone brings fulfillment.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Paul the Apostle, Galatians 5:1

Augustine's paradox: 'Love God and do what you please,' recognizing that true love of God liberates and directs right action.
