Pray Without Ceasing
Continuous communion with God integrates prayer into all of life.
Paul's instruction to 'pray without ceasing' seems impossible until understood as maintaining constant awareness of God's presence. This is not endless formal prayer but living in ongoing conversation with God—bringing all situations, decisions, and moments into dialogue with Him. Brother Lawrence called this 'practicing the presence of God' while washing dishes. This transforms all of life into worship. Brother Lawrence's own method was small and repeatable: a short sentence to God at each task, resumed without self-reproach when forgotten.
Pray without ceasing.
Brother Lawrence's 'The Practice of the Presence of God' describes maintaining constant awareness of God while doing ordinary tasks.
