Ask, Seek, Knock

Persistent prayer is encouraged by God's promise to respond to those who ask.

Jesus teaches, 'Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.' The verbs indicate ongoing action—keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. God is not reluctant but willing; if earthly fathers give good gifts, how much more the heavenly Father. Prayer is not changing God's mind but aligning with His will and receiving His provision. This teaching encourages boldness, persistence, and expectation in prayer. God's answer may not match our request but will be what loving wisdom determines best.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Jesus Christ, Gospel of Matthew 7:7

George Müller demonstrated this principle by supporting thousands of orphans through prayer alone, never asking anyone but God for funds.
