The Second Coming of Christ

Jesus will return visibly, personally, and triumphantly to complete His redemptive work.

The New Testament repeatedly promises Christ's return: 'This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go.' His coming will be visible, personal, and unmistakable—every eye will see him. This hope has sustained believers through persecution and suffering for two millennia. The timing is unknown, but the certainty is absolute. This coming brings judgment for evil, resurrection of the dead, and consummation of the Kingdom. We are to live in readiness, neither predicting dates nor forgetting the promise.

This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.

Angels (at the Ascension), Acts 1:11

C.S. Lewis warned against both 'dating' Christ's return and forgetting it—'the doctrine of the Second Coming...is medicine, not food.'
