Hermeticism

God as Father and Good

The Hermetic understanding of God's nature.

God is understood in Hermeticism as the Father of all and as the Good itself. God creates from overflowing goodness, not from need. All that exists participates in this divine goodness to varying degrees.

God is the Good, and the Good is God.
