The Silence of the Father
The ineffable nature of the divine source.
The Father is beyond speech, beyond thought, beyond naming. Only silence can approach the divine source. All words about God point toward but cannot capture the reality.
No name can be applied to Him who is unspeakable.
Hermetic apophatic theology parallels other mystical traditions.

- What Hermeticism says about reverence
The source is called unspeakable, so silence is treated as the nearest approach. Words are allowed to point, not to hold.
