Umrah - The Lesser Pilgrimage

The voluntary pilgrimage to Mecca that can be performed at any time, offering spiritual renewal.

Umrah (العمرة) is the lesser pilgrimage to Mecca, containing the rituals of tawaf (circling the Kaaba) and sa'i (walking between Safa and Marwa), but without the rites specific to Hajj. Unlike Hajj, Umrah can be performed at any time of year and is not obligatory but highly recommended. The Prophet (PBUH) said that performing Umrah expiates sins committed between it and the previous Umrah. Umrah offers spiritual renewal and the opportunity to visit the sacred sites when Hajj may not be possible. Many Muslims perform Umrah during Ramadan for multiplied rewards.

And complete the Hajj and Umrah for Allah.

Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:196

The scholars describe Umrah as a visit to Allah's house that rejuvenates the soul—a spiritual homecoming that reminds the pilgrim of their true home in the hereafter.
