Removing Harm from the Path

The teaching that even small acts of removing obstacles are acts of faith and charity.

The Prophet (PBUH) said: 'Removing harmful things from the road is a charity.' This hadith elevates mundane acts of public benefit to the level of worship. Faith is not limited to ritual but extends to every beneficial action. Picking up trash, moving an obstacle, or clearing a path becomes an act of faith rewarded by Allah. This teaching creates a sense of collective responsibility for public spaces and safety. Small consistent good deeds accumulate into a life of righteousness and service.

Removing harmful things from the road is a charity.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith 56

The Prophet (PBUH) described faith as having over seventy branches, from the testimony of faith to removing harm from the path—all are part of iman.
