Mercy to Creation

The teaching that those who show mercy to creation will receive mercy from the Creator.

The Prophet (PBUH) said: 'The merciful are shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Show mercy to those on earth, and the One in the heavens will show mercy to you.' This hadith establishes a direct relationship between mercy given and mercy received. 'Those on earth' includes all creation—humans, animals, plants, and environment. The Prophet's mercy extended even to enemies and animals. Cruelty to any creature is condemned. This teaching creates an ethic of universal compassion that reflects Allah's own attribute of mercy (Ar-Rahman).

The merciful are shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Show mercy to those on earth, and the One in the heavens will show mercy to you.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 43, Hadith 4941

The Prophet (PBUH) forbade harming even ants without cause and criticized those who mistreated animals, declaring they would face accountability.
