Al-Hakim - The All-Wise
Understanding Allah's perfect wisdom in all His decrees, actions, and creation.
Al-Hakim (الحكيم) indicates Allah's perfect wisdom in all He decrees and creates. Nothing in His creation or commands lacks purpose or benefit, even when human understanding cannot perceive it. Wisdom differs from mere knowledge—it is placing things in their proper places at the proper times. Understanding Al-Hakim provides peace during trials, knowing there is hidden wisdom. It inspires acceptance of what cannot be changed and action where change is possible. Trust in divine wisdom is the cure for despair and complaint.
And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
Ibn Qayyim wrote that whatever Allah decrees contains wisdom—sometimes apparent, sometimes hidden, but always present. Trust in His wisdom is part of iman.
