Non-Attachment to Body
Even attachment to one's own body creates karmic bondage.
The body is a temporary vehicle for the soul. Excessive concern with bodily pleasure, appearance, or longevity creates attachment. Aparigraha includes healthy detachment from physical form.
The body is a garment; do not be attached to your clothing.
Body non-attachment distinguishes the eternal soul from temporary form.

- What Jainism says about illness and the body failing
Jainism begins by demoting the body to a garment the soul is wearing. Attachment to its appearance, comfort and longevity is itself a karmic bond, which means the fear of losing the body is treated as a spiritual problem in its own right, separate from the disease.
