The practice of requesting permission from the earth before working with it.
Before cutting trees, planting fields, or extracting resources, one must ask permission from the spirits of the earth. This acknowledges that humans are not owners but partners with nature. Taking without asking brings imbalance and eventual harm.
Ask before you take; the earth is not yours to command.
