Generosity - The Ring-Giver's Way
Share your wealth freely; generosity creates bonds and builds reputation.
The Norse valued generous leaders called ring-givers who shared their wealth with followers. This generosity created loyalty and social bonds stronger than gold. The miser sat alone while the generous were surrounded by friends and fame.
Gold is given freely by the good; the miser's gold brings him no joy.
Generosity was how leaders built and maintained their followings in Norse society.
