Algiz - Protection and Sanctuary
Algiz is the rune of protection, the raised hand warding off harm, and connection to the divine.
Algiz represents protection and sanctuary. Its shape suggests the elk's antlers or the raised hand of warding. This rune teaches that protection comes through connection to higher powers and through our own vigilance. Algiz creates sacred space.
The elk-sedge grows in the marsh, it waxes in the water and grimly wounds.
Algiz is the primary rune of protection and divine connection.
