Rei-sai - Annual Grand Festival

The main annual festival of each shrine, honoring its principal kami.

Rei-sai is the most important annual festival of each shrine, commemorating an event significant to its kami - often their legendary arrival or a historical miracle. The entire community participates in elaborate rituals, processions, and celebrations.

The rei-sai renews the bond between the kami and all who worship at this shrine.
