Tanabata - Star Festival
The festival celebrating the once-yearly meeting of the stellar lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi.
Tanabata celebrates the meeting of the stars Vega (Orihime) and Altair (Hikoboshi), lovers separated by the Milky Way who can meet only on the seventh day of the seventh month. People write wishes on colorful strips of paper and hang them on bamboo branches.
On Tanabata, even the stars cross heaven to fulfill their love.
